Eden Hall was built in 1904 on a four and a half acre plot, which used to be part of a nutmeg plantation. The Foreign and Commonwealth office has worked hard to maintain the house in its original form. It has been described as an Edwardian 'minor masterpiece'.

The Duke and Duchess heard a performance from an artist in the Musicity programme, which is a musical project supported by the British Council that blends British, Singaporean and other musical genres.
Kate raised her glass for the toast.
Kate smiled as she signed the guest book and she appeared to have a lovely evening at the reception.

Kate wore a floral-print dress by Erdem. The chiffon dress has a pleated skirt, exposed back and loose-fitting sleeves. The Duchess first wore Erdem when she stepped off the plane during the Canada tour and the Canadian designer has become a favourite of hers since.
Kate's dress is a modified version of this piece from the Spring/Summer 2012 Collection.
A look at pieces from the Pre Spring 2013 Collection.

Wow that was quick! I love the dress the pastel colours are very pretty. I thought the shoes might've been the suede Harper shoes she wore to the reception a few weeks ago but I didn't realise the sledge shoe came in that colour :) I think this is my favourite outfit of the tour so far but im sure there are more lovely ones yet to come.
ReplyDeleteGrace
I agree! The shoes are definitely the grey suede Harper.
ReplyDeleteIt IS the suede Harper shoes not the sledge
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely dress.Everything she has worn on this trip has been so suitable.
ReplyDeleteJust one thing--her shoes look grey to me as did her clutch.
Of course we all have different ideas, but I love her hair worn loose. She is young enough to wear it like that--keep the "updos" for the years to come.
Thanks--again you are first with the details.
Jean
I was expecting Kate to wear a tiara tonight. What do you think Charlotte, when will we see her wearing one?
ReplyDeleteIn the US much is being made of the fact that Kate is toasting with water. Jet lag?
ReplyDeleteSome of those other dresses you showed are stunning, I hope to see Kate in even more modern outfits. I wish she styled her hair straight like during the Canada Tour, I think the bottom curls are nothing special. She looks as beautiful as usual , and the dress is lovely :)
ReplyDeleteThank you for 3 solid and rapid updates in one day!!
The heat and humidity are curling Kate's hair! I imagine her stylist is using more product to combat the elements, but there is just so much you can do. I think the sleek styles we are accustomed to will have to wait until she returns to GB.
DeleteMaybe ah should consider a wig?
Deletelove the floral dress the duchess wear i be expecting a tiara too im looking forward to seeing her in a new outfit tommorow as they fly to malaysia
ReplyDeleteOr are the shoes the grey Emmy shoes that she has?
ReplyDeleteI think they might be the grey Emmy shoes that Carole Middleton wore for the Royal Wedding. They look the wrong colour for the LK Bennetts ones?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful dress! One of the best, so far! I wish we could see it's back!
ReplyDeleteEverybody keep saying she should wear her hair up because of the humidity... I live in Brazil, we have a tropical enviroment and I don't see a problem about it! I wear my hair down every single day! I know people have different opinions, but i think she looks awesome! Including her gorgeous hair!
Thanks, Charlotte! You are the best! Ever!
Fashion and nothing more!God save the Queen!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry, what did you mean with that statement?
DeleteIs it possible to do a post sometime on Kate's hairstyles and how they evolved over the years? I personally liked her hair better when she had longer layers which framed her face better and looked a little more youthful. Thank you! Wonderful blog! Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteOf course, I will do that after the tour.
DeleteKate makes the most incredible choices! Absolutely spot on every time! Stunning! Loving Will's blue suit to match!
ReplyDeleteI am just LOVING the wardrobe choices that Kate is making. I think I am liking her wardrobe on this tour better than the Canadian tour. I really love how she just keeps it simple with a stunning dress and simple accessories--if you can call diamonds simple. I have always felt that I have to have a pair of shoes in every color to match every outfit, but she is showing how you can just keep it simple and let the dress do the talking. I am still holding out hope for a tiara, but my hope is fading. However, I won't be greatly disappointed because everything she has chosen has just been stunning. The Queen must be so pleased.
ReplyDeleteI have a request. I hate asking this because you work so hard already, but do you think after the tour you could put together a summary of all the outfits Kate wore so we can see them all together. If not I completely understand.
ReplyDeleteOf course Rachel.
DeleteAfter the tour I'm planning a poll on 'Kate's best tour outfit' and will feature each and every one, giving us a look at Kate's sense of style over the tour.
I look fwd to that post :)
DeleteWonderful once again! Really really fast(: Loved the dress and shoes plus Will's suit was matching!I hope they have found Singapore to be amazing, wishing for them to come back soon for a holiday!
ReplyDeleteThank you Matthew.
DeleteOn another note, you and all the wonderful people who have shown William and Kate so much support over their visit should be very proud. The buzz is incredible and you have all made them feel so welcome. I have no doubt they will be back again.
It's our country's pleasure to play host to two outstanding individuals, so down to earth, even the residents that had a chat with them said that during the event(:
DeleteI'm wondering if Kate and Will managed to try any of the famous local food? it would be such a waste if they didn't! Hoping that they ordered some chicken rice or laksa for room service, it's quite good at Raffle Hotel..
I think I have discoverer your secret Charlotte... You are really the Duchess herself!!
DeleteI have to say that I like the tour now more than the Canadatour!
ReplyDeleteShe looks awesome! Again such a beautiful dress!! I like like LOOOOOOOOOVE it!!
Thank you Charlotte for such a super work! So fast post and then so quick with the updates!!! Unbelievable!!!
Come on Charlotte! You're the Duchess secret assistant! ;-)
ReplyDeleteI am hoping and praying for a ballgown and tiara tomorrow night...
ReplyDeletePPx
Charlotte thank you for all your great post. If it wasn't for you we as fans would not be able to keep up with this royal tour, some much going on in such a short period of time.
ReplyDeleteI am not much of a dress person but I do have to say I have loved every outfit that the beautiful Duchess has put on so far. And that William's suits has match his Duchess's dresses.
So now on to day 3 of this great tour. Hopefully we will still get to see the Duchess in a tiara.
Spectacular. Every. Choice. The Duchess is impeccably beautiful and looks so natural and comfortable w/herself.
ReplyDeleteYou know who I think needs a little fashion makeover, though? Prince William. Man, those heavy, dark suits ALL THE TIME weigh him down and don't enhance his persona. For instance, he could have worn something lighter in this warm climate....how about a spiffier tie from time to time. Anyhow, just saying. He definitely could take a cue or two from his lovely spouse! :) Silvia
I like this dress much better without the sleevs. But i think is the prettier dress so far, although ,my favorite look until now was the Raoul's & LK Bennett this morning. Well, i think the duchess could shine much more if she wears sometimes her hair up. And don´t get me wrong, she has an amazing hair with or without humidity, but sometimes her hair hides her features and sometimes her accessories. Of course that´s not the most important about the job, but what´s the point about put some earrings, if NO ONE can see them?? And some of this tour outfits could really improve with a different hairstyle. Maybe is her choice, maybe she REALLY likes her hair down, i don´t know, but still, is a little boring. Sometimes a nice ponytale, is all it takes. She will look much young and fresh, like the age she has.

ReplyDeleteAnother very nice dress!floaty and with interesting combination of colours, pastels yet not boring. And the harper shoes are my recent favorit, flattering shape, material and above all,the color-grey,but not too strong, with almost white undertone which makes them as universal as some nude shoes are.
ReplyDeleteHi Charlotte, I posted a comment a while back but it does not appear....thoughts?? Silvia
ReplyDeleteShoes definitely are not the Harper - wrong colour, heel height and no platform. Look like grey Emmy. Rare mistake on this site!
ReplyDeleteWell poor Charlotte will have another late night. Day 3 starts at 2:30am UK time. Maybe us fans need to send her a supply of coffee...lol But again thank you Charlotte for all your hard work bring us up to date on this wonderful tour. Your are the best.
ReplyDeleteNow I just took a good look at the Duchess's shoes and they look like a light gray, and her bag is gray. But does any one know about the earrings the Duchess is wearing?
Some Boring looks for Kate in this visit! All these flower imprints are getting like too much. 3 floral prints in 2 days? Seriously ?
ReplyDeleteKate's hair seems to be quite capricious. Which makes me think that maybe she has always styled it back in the uk. Wonder what her hair is like untreated, natural ...
Really like the dress. And also I really like William's blue suit! He's looking sharp!!
ReplyDeleteTHANK FOR PICTURES.
ReplyDeleteGREAT JOB.
Too much like the dress she wore to the polo match in CA last year... Didn't need to buy a new dress...
ReplyDeleteAnother lovely dress. Can't wait to see what's next! Thank you for all your hard work!
ReplyDeleteI liked the dress but not the shoes. She could've easily picked a color off her dress and worn that color shoes.(For example-Lilac). Onward to Malaysia!!!!!!!
ReplyDeletegorgeous erdem dress . I love her glowing figure too.
ReplyDeleteI agree with her glowing figure. The beautiful Duchess looks very heathly.
DeleteDear Charlotte,
ReplyDeleteI seriously hope you`ve been offered jobs from the most important magazines in the world, because if they haven`t done so yet... well, then they`re very silly!!
The white McQueen this morning is too beautiful for words. Beautiful is not enough. And the Duchess wears it so effortlessly! I love the Erdem dress as well.
A fan in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
I agree with you about the white dress, Kate looked gorgeous in it!
DeleteThank you for those extremely kind comments!
ReplyDeleteI'm *delighted* you are all enjoying the posts x
I'm not so enthusiastic about the third floral print in a row... I loved the first two, but not so convinced with this one. Something with the colour, maybe. On the other hand, I find her makeup flawless. So difficult in a hot and humid country. And she seems so at ease and happy. Lovely to see them both making another huge success of their trip... Can't wait for tomorrow...
ReplyDeleteLove from Theresa in Paris
The clutch is the wore she used at the Trooping the Colour ceremony; the Alexander McQueen Grey Suede Clutch with the skull removed. :)
ReplyDeleteMy 3 children n I met Kate outside the raffles hotel yesterday. We saw her in the outfit she wore out to the rollryce then saw her again when she changed for the evening to go to Eden hall. I must say she looked spectacular in each setting. Her hair looked gorgeous despite the humidity, which I can tell u is no mean feat. We have loved having her in singapore and for an Ozzie, I have a touch of royal fever... Loved ur blog... Just thing bees knees!!!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds wonderful and very memorable. It's only a pity they couldn't stay in Singapore longer.
DeleteThank you for the speedy, complete and lovely post Charlotte. You should be a royal reporter! I was wondering if you've seen any pics of the back of the Erdem dress? I've read it's backless, but would love to see it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually seen the back but will update the post if I find a photo of it :)
DeleteIt´s a actually pretty dress.

Oh, also, since there are so many comments about here hair, I read that James Price signed a non-compete when he left Richard Ward's salon, so he can't touch the Duchess' hair for 6-months from his departure date...have you also heard that? I agree with many of the commentors, he did such a lovely job w/ the big curls like in the engagement photo rather than the tighter curls at the bottom we are seeing lately...(I also read they are both on malaria medication, which could explain the water toasts...). :-)
ReplyDeleteWilliam was drinking wine yesterday...
DeleteCharlotte...you are simply amazing! First, let me say that I agree with Anonymous 22:38...a magazine just HAS to hire you! I love reading your posts. Your writing style is wonderful. Not only do you update us on the Duchess' clothing, but you share tons of interesting facts with us as well. Your research is very well done, and your posts are super-lightening-fast! I don't know how you do it. You are the ONLY source for info on Kate that I need :-)
ReplyDeleteI think her choices for this tour have been perfect. She's in a tropical climate and the floral prints seem very appropriate. I'm not a huge fan of florals, but the one's she's worn so far have been gorgeous. My favorite has been the Prabel Gurung. Youthful, vibrant and perfect. I'm also loving the LK Bennett Harper's. Good job, Kate!
Thank you so much *blushing here* :)
DeleteAgree with you completely Anon 00:12, both Kate and Charlotte have been superstars the past couple of days!!
DeleteI agree with Anonymous 22:38 also!! DO share the good news of getting hired with us soon!!!! :))))
DeleteI scanned through comments quickly on only saw another person who isn't in love with it... I don't like this dress. It looks better on the model - sleeveless - and i love how they look with the gloves, that is a cute addition, but for me another pleated floral dress, ugh BORING. Especially because I don't see any awesome colors and I don't see it youthful. I can see Camilla in this dress.
ReplyDeleteA great point of reference for me is to ask: would PIPA wear this? Pipa has had her FASHION MISS moments too, but for the most part I like her clothes. She dresses like someone under 30 and with clothes I would wear(because she doesn't care about the fashion police and quite differently from Kate she is not a people pleaser). I don't think mama Middleton would even wear this outfit (Mrs. Middleton dresses nicely, elegant and youthful and I don't care if she gets criticized for it. She looks great, she is pretty and has the body for it, plus she doesn't fall into vulgar so she can dress youthful for her age). I feel Kate has changed her style (after marriage) drastically and I understand she has to follow protocol, perhaps even instructions, but still... I just miss the old/single Kate fashion style :(
I'm not 30 yet, and I know Kate wouldn't love everything in my closet :P but some of the items lately make me think, "ugh! Pass that to my mom" and of how I would never even give it a second look at a store...
Bea
@ BEA - totally agreed!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe pretty much everybody loves the outfit!
it is SO GRANDMA-ish...seriously, not even the Queen herself would wear that dress!
